Jewish Family Service offers comprehensive social services to those in Davidson County and Middle TN, no matter your age, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or economic standing. Together, we are changing lives.
We strive to enrich the whole person, enhance the whole family, and empower the whole community by offering myriad programs suited for what you are going through in your life at this time. With more than 26 programs housed within JFS Nashville, we have the ability to meet multiple needs at one time, or over the course of your lifetime. We hope to serve and empower you as you need assistance both now and in the future.

Counseling
Our licensed social workers provide counseling for individuals, couples, families, and children and adolescents. Together, we are advocating for mental health.
Older Adults
Age-related programs and services designed specifically for older adults to thrive and meet their cognitive and physical needs. Together, we are caring for our community.

Enrichment programs that empower, protect, and address the ever-changing needs of our community. Together, we are constantly learning.

How We Serve
Jewish Social Services
Can everyone use the services of JFS or do you have to be a certain age or at a certain income?
People of all ages and incomes come to JFS!
The following programs are available to the entire Nashville and Middle TN region:

- Adoption Services – birth parents, adoptive parents, and LGBTQ+ families
- Family & Community Services – education programming
- Information and Referral Services

Due to guidelines from our funding sources, specific programs are available only to those of the Jewish faith, as follows:
Does JFS charge fees for service?
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! Our therapists are professional, experienced licensed clinical social workers. JFS is an in-network provider for several major insurance companies as well as EAP providers (you may wish to check with your insurance company prior to your visit). We also accept Medicare and Medicaid. Clients without insurance may qualify for service on a sliding scale based on income and family size. Please contact us for additional information.
How do I get started?
You can send a request here, or call us at (615) 356-4234. If you are a parent or guardian, you can call on behalf of your loved one.
How will you keep my confidentiality secure?
All communications with JFS are confidential and all employees must sign confidentiality agreements. Written records are kept in locked files. Although our offices are located within the Gordon Jewish Community Center, the entrance to our offices are in the back of the building with a private entrance and fully confidential.

Life can be challenging, relationships can be hard, and you may need the extra support that comes with working with a therapist. Our licensed social workers offer counseling for individuals, couples, and families, as well as for children and adolescents.
Choosing to adopt a child, or to place a child for adoption, is a life-altering decision. We are a licensed child-placing agency in Tennessee with more than 40 years of experience in adoption services in Nashville and Middle Tennessee.
Whether you need emergency financial assistance, such as help paying a utility bill or rent for the month, or material assistance by ensuring your children have gifts at the holidays, school supplies, or food supplements, Jewish Family Service offers this critical assistance in a confidential, compassionate manner.
Older Adult Programs & Services
We recognize that older adults are true treasures, and we strive to create and maintain a community that values and celebrates them for their wisdom, contributions, and experiences. Our programs and services are an important outlet for our older adults, encouraging them to be social and stimulated.
